“Let’s
look around, meet back at the hotel by six, then we’ll prep and then come back
here for our mission.”
His
teammates nodded and they split up, each taking a section of the quiet town.
Tsunade had given Shikamaru the address of the bar, and told him that someone
there was manipulating genjutsu to make an absurd profit from the villagers.
Shikamaru had been sent there with Chouji and Naruto to check it out.
*
Back at
the hotel they changed into casual pants and dress shirts, and made their way
to the bar. The town was completely different, people covered the streets
around the area, there were lights and sounds and laughter everywhere. “I know
this town is known for its nightlife, but this is ridiculous!” Naruto said.
Eventually they made their way into the bar and sat down. They ordered a round
of sake to blend in, and then set to work. Chouji ‘went to the bathroom’ as an
excuse to look around, Naruto began talking to strangers in that way only he
could, and Shikamaru used those keen eyes of his to watch every movement.
Hours
passed, and the three of them were still sat at the table. Nothing had
happened, and it didn’t look like anything was going to happen. It was close
approaching midnight and Shikamaru was about to suggest they go home and try
again tomorrow when the lights dimmed and the voices hushed.
Music
blasted from speakers mounted on the walls, and the ninja could see five female
silhouettes stood on the bar rail. Lights turned on, showing their faces, but
shikamaru focused on the one in the middle, who opened her mouth and began to
sing.
“You
wanna. You wanna. You wanna hot body.” She continued singing and casting heated
glances around the room as she moved her body to the music. Their dancing was
slow, but purposeful. Seductive. The others danced as well, but the middle one
captured everyone’s attention. This is what alerted shikamaru. He disrupted his
chakra flow, and sure enough he realised that he was out of the genjutsu. Her
hair colour had changed, instead of the golden blond, it was more of a light
mahogany brown. He supposed it took away her sexy edge, but he preferred the
brown hair… Snapping his mind from his thoughts he looked at his teammates. He
groaned when their ogling proved that they were caught in her genjutsu.
He
looked back at her only to see that her eyes locked with his. Her mouth slid up
into a grin as she realised that his mind was free, and Shikamaru stood,
planning to get out of her line of sight. He tried to push his way through the
throngs of people but they wouldn’t budge, to busy staring at the ‘blond’. He
turned around and saw that the music had slowed and she was slinking towards
him.
“Hold
your head high, fingers to the sky.” She brushed her scantily clad body against
his and then walked around to his back. Her voice brushed against his skin as
she sang, and her hands trailed over his shoulders and down his chest. He stood
there, trapped in her voice as she moved in front of him, facing away.
“Now
they don’t believe ya, but they gonna need ya.”
She
stuck her backside out so it rubbed against him teasingly, tantalizing, and
then she lowered herself, still swaying to the music.
“Keep
it building higher, and higher.”
She
stood back up, trailing her hands up her own body this time. As the music
picked back up she strode away, sending a wink over her shoulder.
He came
back to his senses, and went back to his table to check on his teammates.
She
finished her song, and Shikamaru saw all of the bills lining the table and
sticking out from her clothes. No doubt,
she’s the source of the genjutsu, and where all of the money is going.
The
three ninja continued drinking their sake, Chouji and Naruto gushing about the
dancer not realising that they had been under a genjutsu.
She
didn’t sing again, and when the bar announced last call Shikamaru went up to
pay their tab.
“Hey
handosme.” His head snapped, and he saw the singer sat on a barstool. She slid
off and stood against him. She had released her genjutsu, so her brown hair was
natural.
“Did
you like my dance?” She trailed her hands up his chest and linked them behind
his head.
“You
certainly have a… talent.” He said. He saw the playful flash in her eyes that
showed she knew he was talking about her genjutsu.
She
moved her lips to his ear, “girl’s gotta eat.”
“You
seem to have expensive taste.”
She
chuckled lightly, sending shivers all over his body.
“I
can’t resist, I love the game.”
She
moved back and let her hands fall. “See you around handsome.”
He went
to turn when he felt a hand grasp his shirt collar and pull him back. Her lips
crashed onto his and without thinking his molded to hers. It was a fast,
vicious fight for dominance that they were both determined to win. Eventually
she pulled back, and with a coy smile went to give him a quick kiss. Tired of
her calling the shots, he grasped her lip between his teeth and pulled,
refusing to let her pull back. He could feel her gasp and move closer,
intrigued. Her body molded to his and his hands grasped her hips, pulling her
closer. This time he broke the kiss, and looked down at her. He had the urge to
press her against a wall and continue, but then shook himself to his senses. He
was on a mission. “You’ve gotta stop stealing these people’s money with
genjutsu, you’re gonna get yourself in trouble.”
“Looks
like I’m already in trouble. You gonna punish me.”
“I’m
serious.”
Once
again she spoke in his ear, “be serious now, as long as you’ll play games with
me later.” She left a fleeting kiss on his lips and then sauntered away.
Shikamaru watched her, they way she swung her hips, god she was a devil.
He
walked up to the bar and asked for their tab. He reached into his pocket and
felt around for his wallet, it wasn’t there.
He
remembered her coy smile as he gave her the warning, and it all clicked.
“Troublesome
woman.” He mumbled with a smirk, “Eh Naruto, I need some cash!”
