End of the year, finally. No
more exams, no more studying, no more getting up early for classes, how could
life get any better?
One of the guys in Kylie’s year
was throwing an end of year party, and everyone was there, Kylie included. His
backyard was lit up, food and drinks were plenty. Music was loud and blasting,
people crowded the area, laughing, cheering, rejoicing in their newfound
freedom. Kylie was in a circle with her friends, a drink in her hand and a
smile on her lips, she was just as happy as anyone else to be there.
“Ahhhhh Kylie!!!” Friends
approached her, jumping and hugging. Emotions were running high here. Maybe it
was the crowd of people, maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it was just the warm
night or the fact that they didn’t have school tomorrow. Whatever it was, Kylie
wished every night could be like this.
A fair few amount of drinks
later, Kylie and her friends were giggling about something menial, until one of
them held her breath and stared openly. “Look. At. That.”
The other girls looked, and
gasped. “Senior boys!”
“What are they doing here?”
“They’re so hot.”
“Think we should go over?”
“No!”
“I’m going over.”
Like good friends, they all went
together. One girl’s love life was all girls love life, after all.
“Hey.” She said, eyeing one of
the seniors, a tall blond. He eyed her appreciatively, for Kylie’s friends were
all quite attractive in their own ways, each had their own style and a
confidence that she wore like a second skin.
She disappeared with him moments
later, with nothing more than a wink and a wave to her friends. Kylie rolled
her eyes, walking to refill her drink.
“Hey there.” Kylie looked over,
it was one of the seniors.
“Hey.” She replied, filling her
cup.
“My friends told me there’d be
hot babes at this party, I guess they were right.”
Kylie winced, how awkward. “I’m
in a relationship actually.”
“Can’t be a very serious one if
you’re here alone.” He moved closer, trapping Kylie against the drink table.
“He’s running late with some
friends.”
“You sure? Sounds like an excuse
to me.”
“She said she’s not interested.”
Another voice said firmly, one of Kylie’s friends come to rescue her. She
gripped her hand tightly and pulled her away.
“Thank you so much.”
“Kylie! Why didn’t you do
something! You know better than to let them get that close!”
“It’ll ruin the party if I just start
punching people!”
Her friend grumbled something.
“Sorry, what was that?”
“I said,” she clarified, “that
if that boyfriend of yours was here, he wouldn’t have hesitated on beating that
guy to a pulp.”
“Yes, well, I prefer to keep the
party going.”
Her friend rolled her eyes,
noting that the senior was still eyeing Kylie from across the yard.
***
“Look, for the fourth time, I’m
seriously not interested.” Kylie would have been more aggravated by now, but
the alcohol was making her find amusement in his pestering.
“It’s been two hours, this
imaginary boyfriend isn’t coming.”
“I’ll let you meet him when he
gets here.”
“Come on gorgeous, let’s just get
out of here.”
She kept denying him, perched
atop a picnic bench, and completely missed the group walking into the party.
Her friend, who had been ‘supervising’ the situation with the senior, however,
did not. She slipped away from Kylie and walked over to them.
“Hey Aomine!” She called, her
voice getting lost in the bass thudding through the ground, luckily, he saw
her.
“Hey, how’s it going?” He asked,
his eyes scanning the crowd, obviously looking for someone.
“She’s over there.” She replied,
ignoring his question, “he’s been bugging her for the past two hours.”
***
“Look, I’m not going anywhere
with you, so stop asking!” But Kylie was still laughing. She wouldn’t go
anywhere, but she couldn’t help find it funny that he wouldn’t give up. He was
about to say something else when a tanned hand gripped his shoulder.
“She said she’s not interested.”
Aomine’s voice was tight, and his eyes flashed to Kylie letting her know he was
angry that she hadn’t kicked this guy to the curb two hours ago.
“Aomine!” She said happily.
“You’re the boyfriend?” The
senior asked sarcastically, “a bit late aren’t you?”
“Look, how about you get lost?”
The senior turned, and puffed up
his chest. He was obviously about to start a pissing contest with Aomine who didn’t
have time for this crap. Kylie’s eyes barely had time to widen before Aomine’s
arm had snapped forward, fist crunching with the guys face and knocking him to
the ground.
Aomine didn’t stop to ask
questions, lunging toward Kylie who warmly accepted him and wrapped her arms
around his neck. He growled, “you’ve got some things to answer for.” But he couldn’t
have been too angry because then his mouth was crushing to hers. His hands
cupped her throat, thumb pushing her jaw up to bite at her lower lip. She
groaned, wrapping a leg around his and pressing her heel to his calf making him
buckle into her.
“Damn girl, so he is real.” The
senior had regained his feet, dabbing at his bloody lip and looking at her and
the way she was pressed against Aomine.
Kylie grinned, “told you he was.”
Aomine growled, “get lost.”
The senior held up his hands in
defeat, “should’ve got here earlier man, she’s a hot one.” He walked away to
seek another girl, while Aomine looked at the girl he held.
“I think I need to make up lost
time.” He grinned.
Oh no… “meaning…?” She asked
cautiously.
He pushed her back, crawling up
onto the table and forcing her to lay on her back as he leaned over her, “meaning
I’ve got to show all these guys that you’re spoken for.”
