Jackie wasn’t one to make a big deal about her birthday. A meal out with friends, a quiet night in, that was her idea of a good time. Apparently, her friends thought otherwise.
“Come on! Come on!” Cana and Lucy were dragging her down the street, a familiar route that she was sure led to her house.
“What are we doing?” She asked, her curiosity peaking out.
“It’s not what we’re doing, it’s what you’re doing.” Lucy said slyly, and Jackie knew that this couldn’t be worse. They’d obviously planned something awful…..
They stopped in front of her house, and they pushed her to the front door. “Go on! Your present is waiting inside!” Their smiles were evil, and Jackie shivered. Couldn’t she just go curl up by a fire or something? But they’d put the ‘present’ inside her house, she wouldn’t be able to sleep properly until she knew what it was. Still, Jackie wasn’t one to be ungrateful.
“This is really nice of you guys, going to all this trouble for me.”
Lucy and Cana split into peals of laughter, “Don’t thank us yet!” They snickered again, and then turned and began to walk away. “We’ll see you tomorrow… maybe.” Jackie didn’t trust their mysterious faces one bit, but it wasn’t like she had a choice in the matter.
She fished out the key and opened the front door, flicking on the light. A folded piece of paper was on the opposite wall.

                Jackie <3
Happy Birthday! We’ve all pitched in to make you this scavenger hunt, and at the end you’ll be able to unlock your present!
Good luck! And don’t have too much fun with it!
                Your friends at Fairy Tail

On the back there was a map, messy and hand drawn, but obviously it was the layout of her house. Numbers had been placed all over it. 1 was in the kitchen… was that square supposed to be her fridge? She head in, curiosity growing. There was a box in her fridge with another note on it.

Carry me with you.

Something rattled from within the box as she picked it up, but she stopped herself from opening it. Barely.
Number 2 was in her living room, a white men’s button up shirt… this was getting strange…. What had Cana and Lucy planned?
Number 3 made her freeze. She had thrown them across the room when she realised what she was holding, but she knew those boxers anywhere. Everyone in Fairy Tail knew Gray’s boxers!
Honestly, she didn’t know why she was continuing to go along with this, maybe because she didn’t want to know what was at the end, because right now, there was only one suggestion she could think of.
Number 4 was a packet of condoms.
Number 5 was the last on her list, and it was in her bedroom. Taking a deep breath, she cracked open the door and took a peak, before slamming it shut again.
What was he doing in her bedroom!? Her cheeks started to heat up, Lucy had known about her crush on the ice wizard… Cana had probably figured it out…. They’d probably told Natsu… this was awful.
He must have heard the door, and started yelling, but it sounded strangely… muffled… Braving herself, Jackie quickly walked into the room before she could chicken out.
She didn’t prepare herself enough for this. Grey was bound with rope to one of her kitchen chairs. His arms were behind him, his eyes were blindfolded, and a piece of cloth was shoved in his mouth as a gag. Oh god. Jackie couldn’t stop herself from looking, but thank god he was wearing jeans. He was actually… fully clothed for once. A piece of paper was stuck to his chest.
Gently, Jackie pulled down the blindfold so it hung loosely around his neck, and pulled out the gag.
“Jackie? What am I doing here?” His grey eyes were wide and confused, and so close to hers. She pulled back a bit to clear her mind, and took the piece of paper attached to him.

Congratulations Jackie! If you can’t tell, we got you a stripper for your birthday! Feel free to open the box from the fridge now, and go wild! He’s been paid for the night, and we’ve officially locked the two of you in! So don’t even try to leave! Enjoy!

“Apparently you’re a stripper for my birthday.” She said, laughing at the explosion of red that coated his cheeks as he tried to splutter out a response. Her laugh calmed her, he was just as confused and awkward as she was. She peeked in the box, just to see, and found whipped cream and strawberries. Her friends had gone over the top with this, but she did like strawberries.
“How long have you been here?” She asked.
“A long time! It’s a good thing these chairs have cushion!”
She laughed, walking around the chair to untie his hands, only to find them handcuffed. “Do you have a key for these?” She asked.
                “No, I thought you would.”
Jackie went back to the note and flipped it over.

P.S. The key for the handcuffs is on him somewhere, have fun finding it!

                Oh no...
He saw her expression and dreaded to ask, “what is it?”
“The key is on you… somewhere…” His face paled….
“We’ll you’ll have to find it then.” He said, looking at her, “my arms are going numb, and it feels like the cuffs are wound in the chair. I’m not moving until we have that key.”
He could tell something was bothering her, but his mind was far past that. Lucy didn’t pull mean jokes like this, so there had to be a reason for it. The only thing he could think of was that Lucy was forcing them to face each other. Gray had liked her for ages, so the only reason that Lucy would tie him up in her bedroom was that Jackie must like him back.
“Come here.” He said, and she numbly followed his instructions until she was stood between his knees. “Kneel down, good. Now unbutton my shirt.”
                “What?”
“This key could be anywhere, and with what they’ve made you do so far, do you think they’re going to let you off easily? They wrote in that note that I’m your stripper, that means that you have to strip me to find the key!”
Jackie nodded, his words made sense, but this was mortifying. Her shaky hands raised to fumble with the top button of his shirt, and then the next, and the next, until his shirt was loose and hanging from his shoulders.
“No key.” She said. A lump was forming in her throat, the next step would be…
“My jeans. But check the pockets first.”
She did, and then her fingers hovered around the button that held the jeans closed, “Jackie, calm down. And besides, it’s not like you’ve not seen my boxers before. You carried a set in the room with you!”
Again, she nodded, refusing to look at him as she popped the button, and slowly pulled down the zipper. She shouldn’t be enjoying this so much! This was wrong!
His muscles tensed as he awkwardly lifted himself so she could slide the jeans from him. He didn’t say anything as her hand brushed his bum, but he could feel it. Now this was bad, he was in boxers and getting hard. How could he not get hard when the girl of his dreams was undressing him!? He just had to pray she didn’t see it. But she had to, because they still hadn’t found the key…
                “Gray, I don’t know if I can…”
“Me neither.” He said, shifting in the seat. Being in his boxers around her felt normal, but without them…
“Wait, Gray!” Her fingers jumped to the waistband and pulled it down. He yelped, but she had only moved it an inch, to the inky black letters had been scrawled there.

Just kidding! The key is on top of the ceiling fan!

Jackie felt humiliation begin to bubble in her stomach, and then she felt something else… something pressing against her wrist…
She froze as she realised what it was, and looked up at Gray with wide unbelieving eyes. He was looking away, and then she realised how humiliated he must be.
Hurridly, she stood on her desk and found the little key on the fan blades. She unlocked the cuffs, and then stood looking out of the window, giving him some privacy. She heard him pull on his jeans and the clicking of his belt buckle, and then he sighed.
“Jackie…”
She turned around, he didn’t look embarrassed any more, more determined now. “Yeah?”
“You know why they did this?” He gestured to the floor littered with his boxers, condoms, whipped cream and strawberries. “It’s because…” He couldn’t say it. How was it that fighting monsters was easy, but telling a girl you liked her was so hard? “Well it’s because I like you, and I think you like me, and they wanted to get us together.” He took a step closer, his open shirt fluttering with his steps. “So we’ve got two options. One, we can pretend this never happened. I bust out a window and leave, and we never speak of it again. Or, option number two. We admit it, and we get over this horrible awkward experience and start things our own way. I like you Jackie, a lot. So what do you say?”
She couldn’t speak, how could she? Grey just admitted he liked her, after all this time! “I, I…” Words were failing her, as they often did. Instead, she let her fingers trail over his hand, and gripped it tightly, looking up at him.
His face had broken out into a smile as he pulled her closer so she was flush against him. His forehead leaned against hers, and she laughed at the cool breath on her face. She let her eyes flicker to his lips, his lips that were so close to her own. He grinned as he watched her, and decided to make the move himself.
Jackie had imagined kissing Gray hundreds of times, but she had never pictured it like this. It was all peppermint and snowflakes and hot chocolates on snowy days. It was Christmas morning wrapped in glittering tinsel and cold nights wrapped in blankets. That’s what Gray was, and Jackie gladly let herself fall into it.
“So we can’t really yell at Lucy and Cana any more can we?” She asked.
“Cana was in on it too? That makes sense. I was wondering who could get Gildarts to knock me out and tie me up.”
“Does that mean that Gildarts wrote the…” Her eyes glanced at his waistband and the words that were written just inches from….
“We’re going to forget that anyone ever wrote that.” He said firmly. She laughed, still feeling the warmth of his fingers laced with hers. No, she wouldn’t be able to yell at Cana, or Lucy. Because as awkward as it all was, Jackie wouldn’t give up what she had now. But there was going to be one minor speed bump…

“What’s Juvia going to say?”
